”I was born and raised in Amsterdam and studied biomedical sciences. I spent many years working in laboratories as a researcher in the field of molecular biology and successfully defended my PhD project at the University of Amsterdam. After that achievement I didn’t see a good career path for myself, so I decided to join a bootcamp to become a web developer.”
Why do you think is important that Role Models need to be visible?
“I don’t know any women that work in IT, and I only got interested in programming late in my career. If there were more role models visible when I was young, I could have chosen another path for myself.”
