“A lack of diversity of tech founders limits the pool of new ideas and ventures to be build. We, therefore, need more women in tech and are proud of all these entrepreneurial role models that are actively addressing the gender gap, especially those in our BOLD community.”

About

“I’m Graciëlla, founder of Closure. At Closure, we unburden the bereaved after a passing by finalizing all contracts and accounts of the deceased person, ranging from bank accounts and insurance to for example a Facebook or Netflix account. The service is free of charge for the bereaved. This is possible because Closure provides a B2B SaaS solution to enterprises. We eliminate the customer service workload related to handling an enterprise’s deceased customers. On top of that, we enable the enterprise to offer a top-notch customer experience: Closure’s specialized bereavement support solution enables the bereaved to easily share the death notification with all relevant organizations in the Netherlands at once. With 1 in 3 deaths in the Netherlands reported via Closure, Closure is a market leader in the field of bereavement support. Having experienced how we can greatly unburden both enterprises and bereaved after a passing, Closure is on a mission to provide customer care solutions for other key moments in life, such as financial aid, marriage, and divorce.”

What or Who inspired you to pursue your chosen career?

“The “entrepreneurs seed” must have been planted during my exchange in Australia, where I was following an entrepreneurs course. Since then, I’ve started several projects, such as building a food truck with a friend. After graduating, building something that combines both machine learning, tech and impact seemed super exciting. When I sat down with a friend of mine, it just all came together. Closure was born because of a Facebook notification she got, congratulating her on her grandmother who was painfully enough already deceased back then.”
